Parameters for the follow-up

Clinically relevant parameters for the follow-up

  • NYHA Class

The physician should at each medical visit evaluate the NYHA functional class. Whenever possible this should be done in a systematic way in order to improve reproducibility.

  • Right Heart Failure Signs and Symptoms
Symptoms and signs of right heart failure should be actively searched for, as well as episodes of syncope and of precordialgia.

  • Medication history and side effects
In addition, symptoms and signs potentially related to medication side effects should be asked at every visit. A complete medication history is mandatory due to the numerous and potentially dangerous drug interactions encountered with PH treatment.
